West Virginia Research and Innovation: A Catalyst for Better Health and Economic Growth

- Research!America’s president and CEO Mary Woolley will release results of a new survey of West Virginians on medical and health research.
The event, which will be livestreamed, will explore the current and future roles of innovation and research as catalysts to economic growth in West Virginia and as solutions to major health threats including the opioid epidemic.
Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) are scheduled to deliver remarks, and leaders from government, industry, academia, and scientific societies will be among the panelists for a discussion on the social, economic, and health impact of public and private sector research and technology. Findings from a new West Virginia public opinion survey on these topics will be released and discussed during the program.
