SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Accounting Club invites graduates to return to campus and share knowledge and career advice with current students during the annual Alumni Dinner Monday, April 20 from 6-8 p.m. in the Student Center Storer Ballroom.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our accounting students to network with alumni and to gather tips on the “dos and don’ts” as they prepare to enter the professional workforce and to sit for the CPA exam,” said Cindy Vance, assistant professor of accounting.
The annual dinner also provides a great opportunity for students to learn valuable information about the work world according to Tara Mallow, Shepherd University Accounting Club president.
“I enjoy talking to the alumni as they share their career achievements since graduating from Shepherd,” Mallow said. “Their accomplishments in obtaining advanced degrees, passing the CPA exam, and advancing in their careers have given me inspiration and motivation for my own future in accounting.”
The cost to attend is $20 per person and will include a buffet dinner catered by the Shepherd University’s Dining and Catering Services. Those planning to attend must register by April 10.
