Aaron came to Shepherd by way of football. He was a student-athlete at South Carroll High School and wanted to attend a university where he had the opportunity to play high-level collegiate football, but also had the chance to excel academically.
Shepherd checked all of the boxes for Aaron, as it was also only one hour away from his hometown of Sykesville, Maryland. As a bonus, his then-girlfriend and now-wife, Jenna, also planned to go to Shepherd, so Aaron committed to start his first year for the 2003-2004 football season.
“It was close enough to home but still felt like I was away at college,” he said.
Aaron is now the vice president of sales and service for Coca-Cola Consolidated Mid-South Market Unit. This promotion required a relocation to Memphis, Tennessee, for Aaron and his family. Before this promotion, he spent 16 years in the Coca-Cola system, starting as an accounts manager in Rockville, Maryland.
“I have been fortunate enough to hold various roles in sales and operations, and through consistently developing teams and delivering strong results, I was given this new opportunity,” he said. “Shepherd helped mold my professional mindset to achieve the career goals I have today.”
Within his community, Aaron serves on the board of directors for the Former Students and Friends of Robert Moton High School, Inc., a 501c3 organization that provides scholarships for African American students in the Carroll County Schools system.
The values and purpose of Coca-Cola Consolidated is to serve others and to pursue excellence and group profitability. Aaron upholds these through community engagement teams, which provides opportunities to participate in various charitable activities in the communities where employees live.
“Most recently, I have been able to support The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Memphis,” he explains.
Aaron, his wife Jenna, and their two boys, Carter and Brooks enjoy being active and are all avid Baltimore sports fans.
Aaron is a great example of how Shepherd Students Succeed and the Shepherd University Alumni Association is proud to have him in our alumni ranks!
