Alumni Highlights
July 2024 – Christina Williams ’12, DNP ’20
Christina Williams ’12, DNP ’20 is our July Alumni Highlight!
Having grown up in Charles Town, West Virginia, Shepherd University was in Christina’s backyard, but she never considered attending at first. She originally went to Radford University to play Division I tennis but transferred to Shepherd in her sophomore year after being recruited for the women’s tennis team. She continued to play tennis for her remaining three years of undergraduate study.
During her time at Shepherd, Christina joined the Tri Sigma sorority and was involved in many campus activities, finding her own Shepherd family. After graduating, she continued to stay active through alumni events with Tri Sigma and attending athletics events. She also acted as an adjunct clinical instructor in the nursing program before continuing her education by enrolling in Shepherd’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DPN) program.
“I’ve spent a quarter of my life at Shepherd and wouldn’t trade those years for anything,” said Christina.
Christina is now a provider at Jefferson Urgent Care and a co-owner of Elevation Hydration, a premier IV hydration and wellness clinic in the Eastern Panhandle.
In her spare time, Christina loves spending time with her family and friends, especially her son Baylor. She loves drinking coffee and says that working out is what keeps her grounded, but shopping is a guilty pleasure. Wednesdays are her favorite night of the week; she can be found at Crossroads Church, where she is a middle school youth leader.
The Shepherd University Alumni Association is proud of Christina’s accomplishments. Shepherd Students Succeed!
