Hailing from Ohio Michelle Perrine received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Toledo, and her Master of Music Education from Boston University.
In Toledo, Michelle premiered the Ohio concert version of “I Can Smell the Sea Air,” from Andre Previn’s opera A Streetcar Named Desire and was a featured soloist for the University of Toledo’s Bach Festival. Michelle was a member of the University Chorale that traveled to Poznàn, Poland for the international festival “Universitas Cantat” at Adam Mickiewicz University.As a member of the Toledo Opera chorus, Michelle sang Faust, Cavalleria Rusticana Pagliacci, Romeo et Juliet, and Madama Butterfly, among others.
In Virginia, Michelle was a member of Choralis, a 100-voice auditioned choir based in Washington, DC. A highlight of her time there was recording a CD of Bob Chilcott’s Christmas music, which Mr. Chilcott produced. The recording, ‘In Winter’s Arms’ is on the Signum label and available through Amazon. Choralis was also invited to sing for Chorus America’s convention.
Michelle is at home teaching Opera and Musical Theatre as well as Contemporary Commercial Music (Pop music, for short!) and American Art Music holds a special place in her heart. Michelle has maintained a thriving voice studio since 1998, teaching through cross country moves and the pandemic. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and The Voice Workshop.
