SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Historic Preservation and Public History Program, Institute of Environmental and Physical Sciences, and George Washington Institute of Living Ethics are sponsoring a talk by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Historian Mark Madison on Thursday, January 21, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education (formerly the Center for Legislative Studies). Madison’s talk, titled “Who Cares for the Future? The Ethics of Natural and Cultural Resource Preservation,” is free and open to the public. A dessert reception will follow.
Madison has served as the historian for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service since 1999. He oversees the museum and archives located at the National Conservation Training Center and teaches environmental history, wildlife conservation, and American conservation there. He is also adjunct faculty in Shepherd’s Institute of Environmental and Physical Sciences.
