Brigadier General Virgil Wayne “Speedy” Lloyd ’78 was the chief of staff and commander of the West Virginia Air National Guard in Charleston from 1999-2004 and commander of the 167th Airlift Wing in Martinsburg form 1989-99. He received his Regents Bachelor of Arts degree from Shepherd, where he met his wife, Nancy Lloyd ’67.
