This is a partial listing of undergraduate scholarships that may be available through the Honors Program. Please be aware that, due to market fluctuations, not all of these scholarships will be available every year. Feel free to contact the Honors Office for more information on these and other scholarships that may be available.
Honors Tuition Waiver
The Honors Tuition Waiver is a partial tuition waiver available to incoming Honors students. The minimum selection criteria are a 3.5 high school GPA, and an SAT score of 1200 and/or 26 on the ACT. The Honors Waiver is renewable each year based on completion of a minimum of 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Alumni Scholarship
The Alumni Scholarship is supported by Shepherd University alumni contributions. The minimum selection criteria are a 3.5 high school GPA, and an SAT score of 1270 and/or 28 on the ACT. The Alumni Scholarship is renewable each year based on completion of a minimum of 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. Award amounts vary.
Rubye Clyde McCormick Scholarship
The Rubye Clyde McCormick Scholarship is established by the Shepherd University Foundation in recognition of Rubye Clyde McCormick and supports outstanding West Virginia students with solid academic credentials. This scholarship is renewable each year based on completion of a minimum of 15 undergraduate credit hours per semester and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. Valued at $5,000 per year.
William Randolph Hearst Foundation Scholarship
The William Randolph Hearst Scholarship is available to minority and female Honors students. Minimum selection criteria are a high school GPA of 3.5 and an SAT score of 1200 and/or 27 on the ACT. The scholarship provides up to $1500 per academic year.
Dr. David Dunlop Scholarship
The Dr. David Dunlop Scholarship was established to honor President Dunlop as the 14th President of Shepherd University. This is a non-renewable, general academic scholarship for students enrolled in the Honors Program.
Mark and Barbara Stern Scholarship
The Mark and Barbara Stern Scholarship is a non-renewable scholarship to be awarded to an incoming Honors Program student.
