SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — A concert on Sunday, October 7, at 3 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 112 N. King St., Shepherdstown, will feature Shepherd University professor and trombonist James Martin and organist Daniel Miller performing as the duo twoRESONATE. The program will include classical works by Gustav Holst, Percy Whitlock, Franz Lizst, and Alexandre Guilmant, as well as contemporary music by John Purser, Anthony Plog, and Stephen Sondheim. The concert is free and open to the public.
Martin is principal trombonist of the American Pops Orchestra in Washington, D.C., and an adjunct professor of trombone at Shepherd. Miller is organist at First Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia, a staff accompanist at Shenandoah Conservatory, and a collaborative pianist at Shepherd.
