Music students to participate in October 7 fundraising concert for former professor

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — A group of Shepherd University students will perform in a concert on Sunday, October 7, at 3 p.m. at New Street United Methodist Church, 202 West New St., to raise money for medical expenses for former Shepherd professor Kaziah “Kaz” White, who was in a motor vehicle accident in August in Vermont. The concert is open to the public and donations will be accepted.

The concert will feature Shepherd’s Saxophone Quartet, Brass Quintet, and clarinetist Josh Smith, of Baltimore.

The Brass Quintet includes Michelle Spears, Wadestown, horn; Emily Watson, Cottageville, horn; Faith Kirschling, Frederick, Maryland, trumpet; Christopher Goodridge, New Market, Maryland, trumpet; and John Toloczko, Vienna, Virginia, trumpet.

The Saxophone Quartet includes Joanie Dyer, Harpers Ferry; Nicholas Acquino, Boonsboro, Maryland; Kyle Colliflower, Frederick, Maryland; and Jordan Shifflett, Bridgewater, Virginia.
