SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s School of Music will host a Jazz Combo concert under the direction of adjunct faculty members Griffith Kazmierczak and Robin Rhodes on Thursday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Frank Center W. H. Shipley Recital Hall. This concert is free and open to the public and will feature small groups performing music composed and arranged by members of the ensembles.
Rhodes is a bassist, improviser, and educator committed to dynamic projects that use the arts to bring people together. He is active in the Baltimore area and performs and teaches improvisation, contemporary classical, and jazz. Kazmierczak has been performing in the Washington, D.C., area since 2010. He has been recognized for his unique compositions, having been featured in Capitol Bop’s D.C. Jazz Lofts concert series. CapitolBop describes Kazmierczak’s tunes as “sophisticated and melodious.”
