SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Debate and Forensics Team hosted the Collegiate Forensics Association Holiday Tournament on campus on November 4-5. Eight teams participated, making this a national qualifier tournament.

Alonzo Perry placed first in the Single Dramatic Interpretation and Lincoln-Douglas Debate categories. Shepherd had winners in seven separate tournament categories:
- Single Dramatic Interpretation—Alonzo Perry, first place; and Josiah Wink and Olivia Stevens, fourth place tie
- Lincoln-Douglas Debate—Alonzo Perry, first place; and Ross Clark, sixth place
- Dramatic Duo Interpretation—Jackson Heath and Olivia Stevens, second place; Nick Marsico and Kevin Knotts, fourth place; and Chloe Bailey and Seth Morris, fifth place
- Poetry—Olivia Stevens, third place; and Josiah Wink, fourth place
- Declamation—Chloe Bailey, fourth place
- Informative Speaking—Nick Marsico, fourth place
- After-Dinner Speaking—Ross Clark, sixth place
This tournament was the last competition for the semester. The Debate and Forensics Team season will continue in January.
