SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Registration is open for Shepherd University’s annual summer jazz and string orchestra music camps, which will run June 24-28. The Community Music program is offering four camps, two for senior players and two for junior players.
Students enrolled in grades 6-12 during the 2023-2024 academic year are invited to participate in the senior jazz camp. College students and jazz enthusiasts are also welcome. The cost is $310, and the camp will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Students will perform a concert on June 28 at 2 p.m.
The Junior Jazz Camp for grades 6-8 costs $185 and will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., with a concert on June 28 at 1 p.m. Both concerts will take place in the Frank Arts Center McCoy Rehearsal Hall.
Students enrolled in grades 8-12 during the 2023-2024 academic year are invited to participate in the senior string orchestra camp, which costs $310 and will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., with a performance on June 28 at 3 p.m. Students in grades 3-7 are invited to register for the junior string orchestra camp, which costs $150 and will run from 9 a.m.-noon, with a concert on June 28 at 11:45 a.m. Both concerts will take place in the Frank Arts Center W.H. Shipley Recital Hall.
