Audition Prep Day

Middle and High School aged students may join us for a day of interactive sessions on how to have a successful audition. The different components will be broken down with opportunities to go through the process. For those who attended last year and those with audition experience, we will offer pull-out sessions for more in-depth content and Q&A time. This year’s schedule includes more time for mock auditions, new skits in the “What Not To Do” session, and a concluding round-table discussion in addition to covering the basics of audition etiquette, how to select music, audition anxiety, and more. All instrumentalists and vocalists welcome. Information will be applicable to all types of auditions – school ensemble placement, All-State/County/District, community theater and more. The instructors will be Andrea Diggs, professor for flute, and Dr. Yu-Hsuan Liao, coordinator of the keyboard program at Shepherd University School of Music. More faculty will be present depending on enrollment. This event is primarily for students, however interested adults are encouraged to call or email with inquiries.
