SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University accounting students attended the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Student Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California, November 7-9.
IMA, the Skyline Chapter of the IMA, and the Accounting Club sponsored the attendance of accounting majors Timothy Johnson and Shreya Upreti.
The IMA Student Leadership Conference gathers students from across the United States and several other countries for a three-day conference where they learn, connect, and get inspired for a successful career in accounting.
“Attending the IMA conference was a very transformative experience,” said Upreti. “It was an exceptional opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals and leave with actionable insights.”
During the conference, accounting professionals gave lectures on a range of topics from advancements in the field to starting a career.
“[The conference was an] excellent opportunity to learn from influential speakers and potential employers,” said Johnson.
Students were able to network with those established in the field and learn more about potential job opportunities.
