SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Screenwriter Brian Ruberry returns to Shepherd University on December 7 for the “How to Write a Christmas Movie: 10 Essential Ingredients” event, organized by the English Department’s National Writing Project site.

Ruberry has sold screenplays to networks like The Lifetime Channel, The Hallmark Channel, and Great American Country.

Last year, he brought his film Merry Magic Christmas to Shepherd’s campus, when attendees were treated to a “sneak peek” of the final cut weeks before it aired worldwide on the Lifetime Channel.

This year, Ruberry will offer advice about writing Christmas movies and share his experiences from the past year, from the Writer’s Guild strike and how it impacted this year’s Christmas movie offerings to having one of his films picked up by Hulu.

The event will start at 1 p.m. in Reynolds Hall.

All are welcome to RSVP for tickets here.

Attendees are invited to enjoy a cocoa bar and Mountaineer Popcorn following the event.
