The Allies for Appalachia is a group dedicated to supporting the work and community outreach of the Center for Appalachian Studies and Communities at Shepherd University and its campus programs, with the goal of telling the Appalachian story and enhancing the state and region both economically and culturally.
Allies for Appalachia Member Benefits (at any giving level):
- Early notification of community programing,
- Access and early invitations to all programs and events, including teacher institute presentations and storytelling events associated with the Center, and
- Free access to all APST academic classes and preferential access to Celtic Roots Global Appalachia travel programs.
Membership Levels (may accrue yearly to a higher level):
- Supporter: $50 (annual)
- Sponsor: $100 (annual)
- Sustainer: $500 (annual) Plus:
- Anthology volume
- Benefactor: $1,000 (lifetime) Plus:
- Anthology volume
- Invitation to Special Events, Roadtrip, Dining with Speakers/Artists
- Endower: $5,000 (lifetime) Plus:
- Anthology volume
- Invitation to Special Events, Roadtrip, Dining with Speakers/Artists
- Input into Programming, AHWIR selection, Celtic Roots destinations
Those supporting the Center at the Sponsor, Sustainer, Benefactor, or Endower levels, and who are interested in serving, may be invited to join the Appalachian Allies Trustee Board. These Trustees will have input into community programming, fund-raising, and outreach of the Center for Appalachian Studies and Communities. Their membership on the Allies Trustee Board will allow them to have a positive influence and make an impact on the Appalachian region. Gifts support the Center’s Teacher Institutes, student scholarships, student travel and Celtic Roots experiences, community programs, and funding for economic and environmental projects
