What is a liberal arts education and why does it matter?
A liberal arts education simply means that you will be exploring a wide spectrum of fields, ranging from art and literature to chemistry and mathematics. On this foundation, you will be able to build out the skills necessary for your chosen career. At Shepherd, you will receive a well-rounded education that will support your future aspirations—no matter what you decide to do.
The transferable skills you will learn through a liberal arts education—such as critical problem-solving, innovation, and analytical thinking—face no risk of expiring, meaning that your education will serve you throughout the 21st century.
