Welcome!
The Classified Employees Council (CEC) serves as a representative body for the classified employees of Shepherd University and provides a forum for discussion of classified staff concerns. The CEC meets virtually the second Tuesday of every month at 1 p.m. We, the members of the council:
- Encourage the improvement of working conditions for classified staff
- Facilitate staff input into decisions that affect classified staff by making recommendations to the President and appropriate administrators
- Convey employee concerns to Shepherd University’s Board of Governors (BOG) and to the state Advisory Council of Classified Employees
- Foster a spirit of unity and cooperation among employees of Shepherd University
Classified Employees Council Children’s Scholarship Fund
The Classified Employees Children’s Scholarship Fund was established by the Classified Employees Council for the purpose of awarding monetary grants to children of full-time Classified Employees. The scholarship is to be used exclusively by the student recipients for expenses in pursuit of a degree at Shepherd University. In April 2024, the Classified Employees Council voted to open the scholarship to dependents of all staff, with preference given first to dependents of classified employees, second to dependents of former classified employees, and third to dependents of staff who have never been classified. To donate, visit the Shepherd University Foundation Ways to Give page and note that the contribution is for the Classified Employees Children’s Scholarship Fund.
