Once you have declared a new or additional major or have been academically accepted into a new academic degree program or level at Shepherd University, you must obtain a new I-20 while still in F-1 status that reflects this change.
How to apply for new I-20
- Changing or adding a major or changing degree program. Your academic advisor sends an email to International Student Affairs confirming the change, effective date, and the projected degree completion date. If this will require an extension, you will also be asked for updated financial support documents. Once the new I-20 has been prepared, you will be notified to pick it up.
- New degree level. If you have been accepted into a new degree level, you will need to meet with International Student Affairs for a new I-20. This may require updated financial documentation.
