Kenamond Hall and Turner Hall Memories
Reed, T. – As a Shepherd College, Turner Hall resident and graphic design major back in the day, I designed this shirt during the ‘87-‘88 school year. I incorporated the guitar because Turner had residents who had formed a band and the building was literally sitting on the rocks along the Potomac. This shirt has withstood the test of time just like Turner Hall did This was my very first shirt design. I think I’ve come a long way.
Welsh Mauzy, M. – I attended “Shep Prep” (as we called it) from 1969-1973. One of my fondest memories was walking into the cafeteria for dinner while the guy that lived in the top corner of Kenamond was blasting CCR (Credence Clearwater Revival NOT Cross Canadian Ragweed) out his window. More specifically “Down on the Corner”. To this day, every time I hear that song, I think of those days. Many times I tear up and have to grab a tissue. I met my loving husband, Don Mauzy, at Shepherd and we had 47 wonderful years and four great kids together. He passed away two years ago. I remember older people telling me to savor those college days because they are some of the best days of your life. I recall thinking at the time- yea right. I have two term papers due this week and a big test coming up. I now know why they said that. I’ve actually found myself saying that to my family.
