McMillan’s International Scholarship 2024-2025
The McMillan family is partnering with Shepherd University to support three $1,500 scholarships for international undergraduate students.
The application closes on June 14, 2024.
*After being granted the award, recipients of the McMillan’s International Scholarship are required to volunteer at least 5 hours for activities hosted by the Office of International Affairs each semester.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time students in a degree-seeking program at Shepherd University through Spring 2025. Each scholarship will be paid in two installments ($750 in Fall 2024 and $750 in Spring 2025).
- Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Applicants must be a F-1 non-immigrant student in good standing.
- Applicants have been involved in organizing and participating in the international events.
Required documents for Application:
- A completed application form
- Create a 3-minute (maximum) video on the topic: “How your decision to study at Shepherd University has impacted you academically, socially, and professionally.” The URL should be included in the submitted application. This video should be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo as unlisted, so that only someone with the URL has access.
- Write and send an essay of 200 words or less on the topic: “How might this scholarship enhance your Shepherd experience?”
- Send two (2) Letters of Recommendation
- Recommendation Letter One – from a faculty member at Shepherd University
- Recommendation Letter Two – from a staff member, such as an advisor or other Shepherd University administrator
NOTE: There is no specific recommendation template form. You can request your referee to write you a free-form recommendation letter.
