Advanced Computer Networks
Building high-speed networks for research and education at Shepherd University.
Overview
Shepherd University is expanding its computer networks! Shepherd has launched a project to address network connectivity issues across the Shepherdstown campus and through the four-state region. The project launched in 2020 with the initial focus of connecting to the Internet2 nationwide research network. As of 2022, the project aims to build high-speed, low-latency networks that will enable the growth of collaborative research, big-data analysis, scientific visualization, remote instructional interactivity, and other creative uses of technology at Shepherd University.
