Title | Chapter President |

I am a senior at Shepherd University in pursuit of degrees in Mathematics and Secondary Education. Outside of academics, some of my favorite hobbies include spending time with my dogs, gardening, playing tennis, and skiing. While I appreciate my down time, I greatly enjoy my work as a Math Tutor and in all of my organizations, including Kappa Delta Pi. After my initiation into Kappa Delta Pi in September 2014, I spent that Fall semester learning the ropes of the Delta Psi Chapter as a member. In Spring 2015, I was appointed as Professional Development Chair which led to my election as President for the 2015-2016 Academic Year and my re-election for 2016-2017. This year, I am most looking forward to working with all members to continue traditions of the chapter including Professional Development Days, Initiation Banquets and The Storybook Carnival. I am also excited to introduce new projects and opportunities to our members in preparation for the International Convocation in October 2017. |

Title | Vice President |
mjames03@rams.shepherd.edu ( Email ) | |
I am a junior here at Shepherd, and I am a FACS education major with a Social Studies endorsement. I was inducted into KDP in the fall of 2015. Since being inducted, I have been involved in professional development, the pen pal project, the pinning ceremony, Relay for Life, and now I am Vice President. Outside of KDP and school, I enjoy spending time with my German Shepherd, Kimber. My favorite thing about being an education major (besides being in KDP) is getting to go out in the field and interact with so many great students and teachers. |

Title | Secretary |

I’m Connor Herndon, I am currently a senior at Shepherd University. I originally transferred here from Hagerstown Community College and I don’t believe that I could have made a better choice! I grew up in the foothills of Western Maryland in a little town called Clear Spring. I enjoy working with children and seeing my students grow and develop as learners. There is truly nothing more intrinsically motivating than seeing the faces of your students brighten up when they have discovered or learned something new. I am very passionate about becoming an educator. After all, we educators are responsible for the future of our world. It is up to us to shape the minds of our future generations. My favorite hobbies include: playing guitar, running, spending time with family and friends, anything outdoors, and rooting for the Pittsburg Steelers. I believe that we have lots of exciting things coming up this year for KDP. I am looking forward to attending more professional development seminars, the 2nd annual Little House Story Book Carnival, and working alongside my team of outstanding officers and counselors. I also look forward to meeting our new members and seeing what great new ideas that they have to bring to KDP. I believe that we have a great year ahead and I plan to grow even more as a teacher candidate through collaboration with my fellow officers and members! |

Title | Historian |

I’m Madeline Witte, a Senior here at Shepherd University studying Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I am originally from Hurricane, West Virginia, but I like to call Shepherdstown home now. I enjoy working with young children and helping them discover the world around them. I am most passionate about reading education and early childhood education. I love seeing children have organic learning experiences. In my spare time, I enjoy seeing movies, shopping, and traveling with friends. In our chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, I am excited for the professional development days, the Little House Storybook Carnival, and the great leadership we have this year. The professional development days provide us with best practices and new ideas from educators around the area. I’m excited for the Storybook Carnival because I love the community collaboration and seeing the families involved with engaging literacy activities. However, I am most excited about KDP’s leadership this year; each person is truly dedicated and invested in making this year the best yet. I am eager to see what this year holds for us! |

Hello! My name is Paige Palmer, and I am an elementary education. I am Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, which is where I plan to stay once I graduate. Because I am graduating a year early, this is my senior year. In my free time, I can be found checking my social media, playing with my 14 year old dog Daisy, and reading. I love to cook, especially Italian food! I’m involved a lot on campus, including Relay For Life of Shepherd University and the A Team. I was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi my freshman year in the Spring of 2014. This year I am excited to lead the Professional Development Committee. I cannot wait to hold awesome webinars! Kappa Delta Pi has introduced me to so many great mentors and colleagues. I am ready to serve our great chapter! |
