Shepherd L.E.A.D.S.
Shepherd University offers this program to residential and commuter first-year and transfer students. Shepherd L.E.A.D.S (LEADS) will provide an experience for new students to make connections, gain knowledge and skills in navigating college, and engaging in community service both on and off campus prior to the beginning of the fall semester. Students will work on academic preparation and skill building through interactive and engaging sessions and connecting with faculty, staff, and peers.
New students will learn their personal leadership strengths, build new skills, and explore ways to step into their own leadership on their college journey. | |

Students will connect with faculty, staff and student mentors and discover their ability to make a difference in the world. | |
Each student will develop friendships, connections, and tangible skills aiding in their development as a person, a leader, citizen, and ulitmately learning about themselves and what they’re able to find at Shepherd. | |
At Shepherd, community service is the norm, not the exception. Our students contribute thousands of hours of service within our community. During this program, students will get a chance to help our community and see why our students love it. |

Program Dates
Shepherd L.E.A.D.S. runs from August 17 – August 22, 2024 and includes leadership activities, engaging sessions, and service projects.
Note: LEADS may conflict with Fall sports, Ram Band, or other early arrival activities. Please check in with your instructor, supervisor, or coach prior to registering.
Program Costs
The Shepherd L.E.A.D.S program fee covers all activities, meals during the program, and supplies. LEADS will accept registrations on a first-come, first-serve basis and is limited to 60 students.
- Registration received by July 12, 2024: $300
- Registration received between July 13, 2024 – July 26, 2024: $400
The program fee will be placed on the student’s fall bill after the Division of Student Affairs receives this submitted registration form.
Students can pay the program fee, as well as other payments, on RAIL or by contacting the Business Office at 304-876-5284.
