Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Interlibrary Loan, abbreviated as “ILL,” is a free service through which Shepherd University students, faculty, staff, and Scarborough Society members may request books, articles, and audio/visual materials not owned by Scarborough Library.
Please note that textbooks and required class readings cannot be requested through interlibrary loan.
We kindly ask our Community members and Alumni to request interlibrary loans (ILLs) through their local public library.
Books and Audio-Visual Materials
The best way to request books or AV is through WorldCat. When you find the item you want, click on “Request this item through Interlibrary Loan.”
Request Audio-Visual Materials
Please allow 7-14 days for items to arrive. Patrons are emailed when items are available for pick up at the Public Services desk.
If you cannot place your request through WorldCat, please email Patrick Weber with the citation information.
Journal Articles
The best way to request articles is through a database search. When you find the article you want, click on “Request this item through interlibrary loan.”
Articles are usually delivered electronically to the patron’s email account. Delivery time is usually 1-3 days, depending on availability at the lending library. Please check your email regularly (including your ‘junk’ mail). Please email Patrick Weber with the citation information if you cannot place your request through the databases.
