SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Dr. Heidi Hanrahan, Shepherd University professor of English and 2018 West Virginia Professor of the Year, gave the keynote address during the December 12 doctoral hooding ceremony at her alma mater, University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The address, “We Are All Bound Up Together,” was inspired by poet Frances Watkins Harper’s 1866 speech at the National Women’s Rights Convention. Hanrahan, who has taught at Shepherd since 2007, received her M.A. and Ph.D. in English from UNCG.
