SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Shepherd University Foundation Board of Directors voted during its December 7 meeting to appoint Sherri Janelle as executive vice president of the Foundation.
Janelle has been serving as interim vice president since September 1. She worked for Shepherd in the admissions office from 1992-1996 and returned as executive director of development in 2016. Before that, she served in various roles in nonprofit fundraising and higher education.
“I am so pleased to be working closely with a strong board, dedicated staff, and the entire Shepherd community to continue the Foundation’s important mission,” said Janelle.
The Shepherd University Foundation’s mission is to ensure educational opportunities for deserving students and enhance the academic excellence of Shepherd University. The Foundation receives and administers private funds for student scholarships, academic and program support, faculty excellence awards, and other initiatives at Shepherd.
Incorporated in 1961 as a nonprofit educational organization, the Foundation is located on the Shepherd University campus in historic McMurran Hall.
