Hans Fogle named executive director of University Communications

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University President Mary J.C. Hendrix announces that Hans Fogle will become the executive director of University Communications beginning February 1, 2024.

“I am delighted that Hans Fogle will be joining our executive leadership team at Shepherd,” said Dr. Mary J.C. Hendrix, president. “Hans brings to Shepherd nearly 20 years of communication, marketing, and community outreach experience. I am confident he will do a great job highlighting the successes of our Ram Family and telling Shepherd University’s inspiring story.

“His strategic vision for communications and outreach will strongly support the academic endeavors of our faculty, staff, and students,” Hendrix added. “The applicant pool for this position was robust, and Hans emerged as a clear frontrunner with the necessary attributes to lead Shepherd to the next level of preeminence.”

“I am excited about this opportunity to return to Shepherd University, the place that sparked my interest in communications and my career in radio,” Fogle said. “Being back at Shepherd is an incredible opportunity. I am looking forward to getting involved and working to support the students, staff, and community at Shepherd.”

Before joining Jefferson County Schools, Fogle was the news director and a talk show host for West Virginia Radio Corporation at WICL, WKMZ, and WEPM in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He also worked briefly as a provider liaison for Hospice of the Panhandle.

Fogle graduated from two Chamber of Commerce Leadership programs, one in Jefferson County, West Virginia, and one in Berkeley County, West Virginia. He has served on the board of directors for the Contemporary American Theater Festival, Shenandoah Community Health, Berkeley Senior Services, and For the Kids, By George Children’s Museum. He also participated in the Berkeley County Business Education Partnership Leadership Program and has served as a moderator or emcee at numerous Eastern Panhandle events.
