SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University will welcome Debria Clark as the new director of financial aid later this month.
Clark brings significant experience in higher education to Shepherd, with a solid background in finance, financial aid, and business administration.
She has also worked in human resources and has experience in staff development, training, employee engagement, and practice management.
Clark said she is excited to use her skill set to help Shepherd students.
“Supporting students is at the core of my work ethic and values,” Clark said. “I’m committed to helping students reach their full potential, fostering their growth, and ensuring they have the tools and confidence to succeed at Shepherd and beyond.”
Clark plans to establish an open, approachable environment where students feel comfortable sharing their concerns and aspirations.
Clark applied to Shepherd, in part, because she saw those values reflected in the faculty, students, and staff.
“I am truly excited about the opportunity to work at Shepherd University,” she said. “I admire how Shepherd emphasizes close-knit relationships between faculty and students, as well as its strong sense of community, and Shepherd’s smaller size provides an intimate setting where students can receive personalized attention.”
Clark most recently served as the regional director of financial aid for Florida Technical College in Orlando, Florida, where she oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid Office in four different regional markets.
Clark’s duties at Florida Technical College included delivering company-wide training sessions; maintaining the Federal Work Study Program; and developing and implementing policies, procedures, and programs.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, and a master’s degree in human resources strategic management from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska.
