An alternative to research-focused doctoral programs, the DNP advances the professional nursing role in clinical practice (family nurse practitioner). The program is designed to produce leaders who embrace health care reform and advocate for vulnerable populations. Our goal is to advance the highest level of excellence in clinical nursing that leads to improved health of the community. Applicants may enter BSN to DNP or MSN to DNP and a minimum 1,000 clinical hours are a hallmark of Shepherd’s program.
