We’re excited you have decided to join the Shepherd University community.
Attending the Orientation programs will provide students with the knowledge, skills, and connections to begin or continue their education. Our office is here to support both Shepherd students and their families as they take the next step in their academic journey. I encourage you to explore the Shepherd website for information on services, policies, and resources.
Advisement and Registration for First Year Students or Transfer Students: Learn about your chosen academic program, interact with the classmates you will be seeing this semester, work with a faculty advisor, and register for classes! Take this time to talk about your course schedule for the fall and your academic interests.
Culture of Respect Training: A required online, interactive, and self-paced module about important aspects for students to identify how to become successful members of the Shepherd community. This information is broken into TWO modules: A Culture of Respect Training — Part One and A Culture of Respect Training — Part Two. More information will be sent in the weeks leading up to the first day of classes. If you have any questions, you can contact the Office of Social Equity, Inclusion, and Title IX, 304-876-5401.
Convocation: A tradition at Shepherd University where all incoming students will attend a formal ceremony marking your official entrance into the University. Convocation signifies the beginning of a student’s educational journey and by which they become members of the Shepherd University community of scholars.
