Winter Break Closing Info
All Shepherd University Residence Halls will close on Saturday, December 14, at 10am. Be sure to leave your room by 10am to avoid a $25 improper checkout fee. Residence Life Staff will conduct room inspections of all residence halls starting at 10am. The Residence Halls will reopen on Saturday, January 11. Students will receive an email to select a move-in time. Dunlop & Printz Apartments Residents interested in staying during winter break must be registered for Spring 2025 classes and have an active Resident Agreement for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025.

Need to Stay Over Break?
If you need to stay past December 14 at 10am, please log onto the Good Living Portal and submit the Extended Stay Request Form by Wednesday, December 11. Extended stays unrelated to academic or athletic commitments will incur a housing fee of $25 per day, contingent on prior approval from the Residence Life Office. Dunlop & Printz Apartments remain open during winter break. Resident Assistants will conduct Health and Safety Inspections in every room starting at 10am on December 14.
Graduating or Not Planning to Return?
Complete the Cancel Resident Agreement form found on the Good Living Portal under Housing Forms.
- Residents must be approved by a Residence Life Professional Staff member prior to any housing or meal plan charges being removed. Moving out without completing the Cancel Resident Agreement and being approved to live off campus will not remove the terms of the Agreement and will not remove billing.
- Before leaving, you must check out with a Resident Assistant (RA) in person. Failure to do so could result in improper check-out fees.
- RA’s will be available for in-person check out Monday, December 9 – Friday, December 13, from 10am-10pm.
- On Saturday, December 14 checkout times will be 8AM – 10AM when halls close.
- Before checkout, The space must be cleaned and all belongings must be removed if a student plans not to return.
