Field Education
An integral part of a social work student’s education at Shepherd University is field experience in a local agency during the student’s senior year. Field education in a social service setting provides the student with an intensive practical experience as he or she becomes involved in meeting social welfare needs. The field placement is frequently cited by students as their most valuable learning experience.
