Supplies Contributions
Donations of agricultural and gardening supplies are a welcomed contribution to Tabler Farm.
Supplies donations may be dropped off at Tabler Farm through coordination with Farm Operations Manager, Matt Ware: mware@shepherd.edu.
The following items are recommended
- Farm supplies:
- Crop seeds (no older than two years past, please)
- Cover-crop seeds (crimson clover, field pea, tillage radish, rye, oats, mustard, etc.)
- Organic fertilizers: seaweed/fish emulsion, bone meal, minerals, glacial rock dust
- Hand tools: trowels, hori hori’s, pruning sheers, harvest knives, shovels, rakes, hoes, stir-up hoes, wheel hoes, etc.
- Irrigation supplies: hose fittings, watering wands, drip tape, orchard tubing, headers, etc.
- Structural support: Cattle panels, fencing, trellising, trellis hooks & clips, ladders, remay, row cover, plastic mulch fabric, garden staples, insect netting, T-posts, trellis wire
- Harvest supplies: garden gloves, harvest bins, storage bins, commercial salad spinners, animal troughs, utility sink
- Maintenance supplies:
- Tools: drills, hammers, mallets, T-post pounder, etc.
- Scrap lumber (good condition, preference for non-treated to be used in food safe areas)
- Lubricants, Linseed oil, blade sharpeners, etc.
- General:
- Folding tables (suitable for outdoors)
- Picnic tables/benches
- Outdoor space heaters
- Farm and garden related books
- Printer ink (HP)
