Meet Our Team!
Anne E. (Annie) Lewin is the Director of Social Equity, Title IX and Multicultural Student Affairs at Shepherd University, responsible for coordinating efforts across campus to ensure equity in all University programs and activities, and University compliance with federal civil rights legislation. Ms. Lewin manages the prompt response and equitable resolution for complaints of discrimination and harassment, including sexual misconduct, to ensure a fair process for all parties, including addressing any hostile environment concerns and engaging in prevention education efforts to restore harm and prevent the potential for future harassment or violence. Ms. Lewin delivers campus- wide training and ongoing education to promote a campus culture based on mutual respect, dignity, and value for all, and conducts ongoing assessments of campus climate to identify systemic issues to guide the continuous review and revision of plans, policies and practices that address discrimination, harassment, and violence. The Director position also supervises the Office for Multicultural Student Affairs to ensure cohesive access and equity for all campus community members through education, awareness, and advocacy to support historically marginalized, underrepresented, and underserved student populations and engage the campus in social action to sustain an inclusive campus environment.
Annie graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s Studies and International Studies from West Virginia University, as well as her J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law. Annie also received a Master’s degree in College Student Development and Administration from Shepherd University. She attends annual and ongoing training to serve as a civil rights and non-discrimination University officer.
